Inmate arrested three weeks after leaving work center

RAPID CITY -- A man was arrested Thursday after leaving the Rapid City Community Work Center without authorization three weeks earlier.

Ronny Crawford, 35, was taken into custody in Rapid City. He is serving a total of 3.5 years for grand theft and eluding, of which he was convicted in July in Charles Mix County,

According to the South Dakota Department of Corrections, Crawford left the facility on Oct. 17.
