PIERRE, S.D. (AP) - About 600 people from across the state and country are gathering in Pierre this week for a conference hosted by the South Dakota Department of Tourism.
The Governor's Conference on Tourism is Tuesday through Thursday at the Ramkota. This year's theme is "Be Monumental." Tourism Secretary Jim Hagen says it speaks to a drive in the tourism industry to continually be thinking big and looking for ways to innovate.
Topics to be covered include customer service training, marketing trends and leadership skills.
