PIERRE (AP) -- The deputy state's attorney in Hughes County has been named the county's state's attorney.
KCCR Radio reports that the County Commission appointed Wendy Kloeppner to the post Monday night. She replaces Max Gors, who resigned March 31 because of health reasons.
Commission Chairman Tom Tveit says four people, including Kloeppner, applied for the state's attorney's job. He says Kloeppner has the authority to hire a new deputy state's attorney.
