OLIVET-A house about two miles west of Olivet was a complete loss after a fire Sunday night.

Though the house's five residents were inside the house at the intersection of U.S. Highway 18 and South Dakota Highway 25 when the fire began, they were able to get out uninjured, according to the Menno Fire Department.

By the time the fire department arrived at the scene shortly before 10:30 p.m., the house was already engulfed in flames. With the Scotland and Tripp fire departments assisting, the fire was put out after about five hours.

Authorities do not currently know what caused the fire, and it is under investigation.
