Hollis "Curley" Haisch, 96, Bonesteel, died Thursday, Jan. 15, 2009, at Community Memorial Hospital, Burke.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Clausen Funeral Home, Burke. Burial will be in Rosebud Cemetery, Bonesteel. Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with a 5 p.m. prayer service.
He was born on Jan. 24, 1912, at Winner to Oscar and Gertrude (Wheeler) Haisch.
He graduated from Fairfax High School in 1930.
He began working at Mulehead Ranch, north of Bonesteel, where he raised sheep.

In the 1950s, he purchased the ranch from his father.
On June 26, 1958, he married Rose Riley at Mitchell.
They operated the ranch for many years, raising cattle and irrigating crops.
He served on the Conservation Board for 35 years, the township board for 50 years and was a member of the Cattlemen's Association.
In 1998, he and his wife were inducted into the South Dakota Hall of Fame in the Unsung Heroes and Good Hearts category.
He is survived by a sister, Martha Mashek, Sioux Falls; a sister-in-law, Leigh Anne Haisch, Mitchell; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, three brothers and four sisters.
