The Mitchell City Council will meet at 1 p.m. Wednesday to approve several items on the agenda that were initially going to be voted on during Monday’s meeting that was cancelled.

Among the consent agenda items that will be voted on include amending the supplemental appropriations for the air purification systems that will be installed at most of the city’s facilities and approving the payment of bills and October pay estimates.

In addition, the council will take action on authorizing Mayor Bob Everson to sign the city’s submission to the Department of Environment and Natural Resources Solid Waste Management Program Grant, which would allow the city to construct a new cell at the landfill.

Initially, the council was set to meet at 6 p.m. on Monday, but due to several council member absences, there were not enough members to meet the quorum, which is the minimum number of members that must be present to legally vote on agenda items.

Everson said the rest of the items on the council agenda that were to be voted on at Monday’s meeting that was cancelled will be included on the council’s agenda for the regularly scheduled Oct. 19 meeting at City Hall.
