Sanborn County Commissioners declared a disaster in the county on Oct. 1 as a result of rainstorms and flooding that occurred between Sept. 9 and Sept. 26, 2019.

Any towns or townships in Sanborn County that have damage to roads, culverts or bridges due to the flooding are encouraged to contact Sanborn County Emergency Manager Jason Coenen to report the damage. Towns and township officials are encouraged to document the damage with photos and keep records of the damage, including the cost to repair damages.

Any homeowners who had homes damaged by the rainstorms are encouraged to contact Emergency Management also.
