PIERRE - Former state legislator Robert A. "Bob" Roe of Brookings died on Nov. 18.

Roe, 62, was appointed to the state House of Representatives in 1989 by Gov. George S. Mickelson. He represented the Brookings area in the House until 2000 and served as majority whip from 1995 to 1998.

Gov. Dennis Daugaard has ordered flags to fly half-staff at the State Capitol on Tuesday, Nov. 22, the day of Roe's funeral.
