Gladys Marie Stanley, 91, Sioux Falls, formerly of Presho, died Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2008, at her home in Sioux Falls under hospice care.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. today at United Methodist Church, Presho. Burial will be in Presho City Cemetery, Presho. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. today at the church.
Isburg Funeral Chapel, Pierre, is handling arrangements.
She was born on Sept. 25, 1917, in Lucas, to William and Minnie (Stroup) Morgan.
They lived in Gregory County until 1923 when they moved to Presho.

On Aug. 17, 1939, she married Verdun P. Stanley at the Methodist Church in Pierre.
They owned and operated Westside Café in Presho until they moved to Seattle, Wash.
They returned to Presho and farmed in Lyman County until retirement.
They lived in Lake Havasu City, Ariz., following retirement.
She moved to Sioux Falls in September 2007 to be near family.
She was a member of the Presho United Methodist Church, Eastern Star and Royal Neighbors.
She attended Stevens Henninger Business College, Salt Lake City, Utah; and the University of Colorado, Denver, Colo.
She is survived by her daughter, Judy Kusserow and husband Bob; a son, Richard and wife Arvidene; a daughter-in-law, Mary Swedlund; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a sister, Lila Sanders.

She was preceded in death by her husband; two sons: Joseph and Dennis; a great-grandson; her parents; a sister, Kathryn Jennings; and a brother, William Morgan.
