Florence Schwiesow, 94, Chamberlain, died Thursday, April 2, 2009, at Fountain Springs Healthcare, Rapid City.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Zion Lutheran Church, Chamberlain. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Chamberlain. Visitation will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Monday at Hickey-Wevik Funeral Chapel, Chamberlain. There will be a 7 p.m. prayer service Monday at the church.
She was born on Dec. 27, 1914, in Chamberlain to Fred and Hattie (Engman) Gilbert.
She was a member of Congregational Church, where she taught Sunday school, sang in the choir and presided as a deaconess for a time.
She went to Chamberlain schools.

She married Bert Wattson.
She was office manager and secretary of Farmers Home Administration from 1941 to 1950.
On June 18, 1947, she married Arnold Schwiesow in Rapid City.
She served as bookkeeper for 20 years at Sladek Implement.
In 1964, she joined Zion Lutheran Church, where she served as president of LWML for three years. She also kept records for the church for many years.
She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Mid Dakota Hospital and Homes Auxiliary and Chamberlain Senior Citizens.
She is survived by three children: Marilyn (Wattson) Storjohann, Sturgis; Joel Schwiesow and wife Elli, Rapid City; and Debra Schwiesow, Sioux Falls; eight grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, and two sisters: Hazel Wipf, Chamberlain; and Neva Pazucha, Glenwood, Ill.
She was preceded in death by her husband,; a son, Daryl; her parents, a brother, Bill; and a sister, Mildred.
