PIERRE (AP) -- Gov. Dennis Daugaard is asking that all flags in South Dakota be flown at half-staff Tuesday in honor of former state lawmaker Bertrum Ellingson of Sisseton.
Ellingson, a decorated fighter pilot in World War II, died Wednesday. He was 91.
Daugaard says Ellingson served in the South Dakota House of Representatives from 1969 to 1980, and held various leadership posts during that time.
Ellingson's funeral service is being held Tuesday at Grace Lutheran Church in Sisseton.
