PIERRE (AP) -- State and federal officials have teamed up to improve fishing on the Richland Dam reservoir on the Fort Pierre National Grassland in central South Dakota.
The state Game, Fish and Parks Department and the U.S. Forest Service repaired the dam that was damaged during flooding last year and this spring launched a project to build fishing areas and improve the boat ramp at the reservoir.
District Ranger Ruben Leal tells the media that improved access was needed because the reservoir's shoreline tends to become overgrown with vegetation during the summer.
