Felony court cases for Nov. 10

The following cases were among those heard Tuesday during a circuit court session at the Davison County Public Safety Center, with Judge Chris Giles presiding:

  • Rodney Reeds, 52, of Mitchell, pleaded guilty to grand theft in the amount of more than $1,000 and less than or equal to $2,500. Reeds was arrested for stealing a computer that belonged to two individuals while intoxicated. He was sentenced to serve two years of probation, along with participating in the 24/7 alcohol program.
  • Jess Puepke, 57, of Mitchell, pleaded guilty to violating his 24/7 alcohol program that he is participating in for several charges that include possession of a controlled substance (schedules I or II) and possession and use of drug paraphernalia. Puepke was released on a personal recognizance bond. He will face a jury trial that is scheduled for Feb. 8, 2021.
  • Mona Stork, 45, of Mitchell, pleaded not guilty to possession of a controlled substance (schedules I or II). Stork was serving probation for a number of charges that include possession of a controlled substance (schedules III or IV), manufacturing and distributing a controlled drug (schedule I or II), improper prescription to dispense a schedule II drug and possession of marijuana in the amount of two ounces or less. Stork was absconding for the charges listed above at the time of her latest arrest. She was granted a $1,000 cash bond. Stork will face a jury trial on Feb. 8 for the recent felony charge.
  • Marcus Jordan, 36, of Mitchell, was released on a personal recognizance bond to begin his probation sentence. Jordan’s sentence stems from several charges he pleaded guilty to including possession of methamphetamine, a controlled substance, which is a class 5 felony attached with a maximum punishment of five years in prison and a $10,000 fine.
  • Michael Sligar, 58, of Mitchell, pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance (schedules I or II), a class 5 felony. Sligar faced a maximum sentence of five years in prison. Judge Giles suspended the five years of prison time, and ordered Sligar to serve probation for a year. Sligar must abide by all terms and conditions in accordance with his probation.
  • Robert Shields, 25, of Mitchell, appeared in court for his sentencing hearing in connection to several felony charges that include second-degree robbery, possession of a controlled substance (schedule I or II), possession of marijuana in the amount of two ounces or less, unauthorized ingestion of a controlled substance (schedules I or II), use or possession of drug paraphernalia and driving without a license. Shields was sentenced to 10 years in prison, along with paying fines and legal fees. He received credit for serving 161 days. Shields previously committed three prior probation violations leading up to his recent arrest.
  • Reese Rose, 40, of Mitchell, pleaded guilty to violating probation that was part of his sentencing in connection to several charges that include possession of a controlled substance (schedule I or II), use of scanning device on payment card, possession of marijuana in the amount of two ounces or less and use or possession of drug paraphernalia. He's seeking to transfer his probation to California. Rose will appear in court in December.
  • Roger Love, 34, of Brandon, failed to appear in court on Tuesday for past charges that include grand theft, drug possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance (schedules I or II). Currently, court records show Love has eight warrants out for his arrest for failing to appear in court.
  • Malissa Garmong, 30, of Mitchell, pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance and intent to distribute methamphetamine in a drug-free zone. Garmong will appear in court on Dec. 8 for her sentencing hearing. Garmong faces a maximum of 10 years in prison for the class 4 felony charges. Prior to her most recent arrest, in April 2019, Garmong was sentenced to 10-years in prison with six years suspended for possession of meth with intent to distribute and consecutively to a five-year sentence with three years suspended for possession of a controlled substance.
  • Steven Dion, 20, of Lake Andes, pleaded not guilty to possession of a controlled substance (schedules I or II), use or possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana in the amount of two ounces or less. He will face a jury trial on Feb. 8, 2021.
  • Dakota Fallis, 25, of Mitchell, was sentenced to six months of probation for violating his probation in connection to charges that include possession of a controlled substance (schedules I or II), intent to deceive a law enforcement officer and use or possession of drug paraphernalia.
  • Casey Medicine Horn, 23, of Mitchell, pleaded guilty to violating probation that he was serving for several charges, including possession of a controlled substance (schedules I or II), use or possession of drug paraphernalia and obstructing a police officer. Medicine Horn was sentenced to three years in prison, which must be served consecutively. He received credit for 58 days served in jail.
  • Brandy Farmer-Wolfe, was granted to continue participating in an in-treatment program for charges she has yet to be sentenced for, including possession of a controlled substance (schedules I or II), possession of a prescription drug while in jail and use or possession of drug paraphernalia. Farmer-Wolfe is set to appear in court Dec. 8 for a jury trial.
  • Harley Miller, 27, of Mitchell, was granted a personal recognizance bond for charges that include possession of a controlled substance (schedules II or II), use or possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana in the amount of two ounces or less. Miller will face a jury trial on Feb. 8, 2021.
  • Jose Campos, 22, of South Sioux City, Nebraska, was granted a two-week extension for his next court appearance for a robbery that took place on Nov. 14, 2015, in Mitchell. Campos is facing three class felonies, which include first-degree robbery and first-degree kidnapping for the robbery. Campos' cash only bond is set at $50,000. His attorney will utilize the next two weeks to discuss a recent proposal for a plea agreement.

He continued his education at the University of South Dakota in Vermillion, where he graduated in 2020 with a bachelor’s degree in journalism and a minor in English.
