The following cases were among those heard Tuesday during a circuit court session at the Davison County Public Safety Center, with Judge Chris Giles presiding:
- Rachael Riggs, 34, of Alexandria, pleaded not guilty to possession of a controlled substance (schedules I or II) and use or possession of drug paraphernalia. Riggs will face a jury trial on April 19. She will have to participate in weekly Urinary Analysis tests.
- Brian Mattke, 38, of Alexandria, pleaded not guilty to possession of a controlled substance (schedules I or II), use or possession of drug paraphernalia, having an altered or invalid license in possession, speeding on other roadways and driving with a suspended license. Mattke will face a jury trial on April 19. Mattke will have to participate in weekly Urinary Analysis tests.
- Thomas Garmong, 37, of Mitchell, was sentenced to serve five years in the penitentiary with two years suspended. He received credit for 105 days served. Garmong's sentence stemmed from charges that include possession of methamphetamine, which is a controlled substance. He was also ordered to pay a $1,000 fine. Garmong has previously been charged and sentenced for possession of methamphetamine.
- Jess Puepke, 57, of Mitchell, had his sentencing delayed to Jan. 5, 2021. Puepke’s sentence stems from violating his 24/7 alcohol program that he is participating in due to several charges that include possession of a controlled substance (schedules I or II) and possession and use of drug paraphernalia. Puepke has been out on bond since November. He will face a jury trial that is scheduled for Feb. 8, 2021.
- Charles Holiday, 32, of Dante, pleaded guilty to violating probation. He was serving probation for driving under the influence. Holiday was sentenced to serve two years of probation. He could face up to five years in the penitentiary for violating probation. Holiday faced a maximum punishment of two years in the penitentiary for the violation. He must successfully complete weekly Urinary Analysis tests and a 24/7 program.
- Rolland Kills Straight, 44, of Sioux Falls, pleaded guilty to a probation violation. Kills Straight was serving probation for possession of a controlled substance (schedules I or II) and possession and use of drug paraphernalia. Kills Straight was sentenced to serve five years in the penitentiary with two years suspended. He was recently arrested in Minnehaha County for a felony charge.
- Wetu Kiyukan, 25, of Mitchell, pleaded not guilty to possession of a controlled substance (schedules I or II), use or possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of two ounces or less of marijuana. She was also charged for violating probation. Kiyukan will reappear in court on Jan. 19.
- Dakota Cranmer, 27, of Mitchell, appeared in court for an advisory hearing that stemmed from charges including a probation violation for possession of a controlled substance (schedules I or II), use or possession of drug paraphernalia and domestic abuse simple assault with intention to cause bodily injury. Cranmer will reappear in court on Jan. 5.
- Patricia Archambeau, 59, of Mitchell, was authorized a furlough to enter into a treatment program in Rapid City. Archambeau is entering treatment for charges that include possession of a controlled substance (schedules I or II), use or possession of drug paraphernalia and no driving license. She will be released Monday morning to enter the treatment program. Following the three-month treatment program, Archambeau will reappear in court in February 2021 to begin the sentencing process.
- Christina Bittel, 36, pleaded not guilty to intentional property damage in the amount of $5,000 and $100,000 and two counts of domestic abuse and simple assault with intention to cause bodily injury. She will face a jury trial on April 19.
- Robert Craig, 35, of Mitchell, pleaded not guilty to manufacturing and distributing drugs (schedules I or II), possession of a controlled substance (schedules I or II), use or possession of drug paraphernalia and driving with a revoked license. Craig's request to be let out on bond was denied, as he was deemed a flight risk. He will reappear in court on Jan. 19, 2021 for a status hearing.
