Felony court cases for April 14

The following cases were among those heard Tuesday during a circuit court session at the Davison County Public Safety Center.

  • Charles Willson, 28, of Whitewood, pleaded guilty to possession of methamphetamine, a Class 5 felony which carries a maximum penalty of five years in the state penitentiary and a $5,000 fine; Sentencing scheduled for May 12.
  • Sheila Kilgore, 63, of Lake Andes, pleaded guilty to possession of hash oil, a Class 5 felony; Sentenced to two years probation; And a second-offense DUI, a Class 1 misdemeanor which carries a maximum penalty of one year in the county jail and a $2,000 fine; Court granted a suspended imposition of sentence with credit for one day served; Driving privileges revoked for one year; Must pay fines totaling $1,650, $193 in court costs, $118.50 in prosecution costs and a $50 DUI surcharge; Must repay court-appointed attorney's fees.
  • Pete Ringing Shield Jr., 37, of Mitchell, admitted to violating probation for a previous conviction of a third-offense DUI, a Class 6 felony which carries a maximum penalty of two years in the state penitentiary and a $4,000 fine; Sentenced to two years in prison suspended with credit for 39 days served and two years probation; Must repay all previously ordered amounts; Must repay court-appointed attorney's fees.
  • Daniel Hawk, 33, of Mitchell, pleaded not guilty to unauthorized ingestion of methamphetamine, a Class 5 felony; And ingesting a substance other than alcohol for the purpose of becoming intoxicated, a Class 1 misdemeanor; Jury trial scheduled for Aug. 10.
  • Dustin Bray, 41, of Mitchell, pleaded guilty to possession of methamphetamine; Sentenced to five years in prison suspended with credit for eight days served and two years probation; Must pay a $500 fine, $150.40 in prosecution costs and $106.50 in court costs.
  • Neal Ferguson, 41, of Mitchell, admitted to violating probation for a previous conviction of delivery of drug paraphernalia, a Class 6 felony; Sentencing scheduled for April 28.
  • William Watkins, 42, of Mitchell, pleaded not guilty to possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, a Class 4 felony; Possession of methamphetamine; And possession of of drug paraphernalia, driving without a license and having an open alcoholic beverage container accessible in a motor vehicle, all of which are Class 2 misdemeanors which carry a maximum penalty of 30 days in the county jail and a $500 fine; Jury trial scheduled for Aug. 10
  • Julian Alonzo, 44, of Mitchell, pleaded not guilty to aggravated assault, a Class 3 felony which carries a maximum penalty of 15 years in the state penitentiary and a $30,000 fine; Jury trial scheduled for Aug. 10.
  • Jasmine Medicine Elk, 19, of Mitchell, was granted a suspended imposition of sentence with credit for 76 days served for intentional property damage, a Class 4 felony which carries a maximum penalty of 10 years in the state penitentiary and a $20,000 fine; And aggravated criminal entry of a motor vehicle, a Class 6 felony; Sentenced to five years probation; Must serve two days in jail every six months throughout probation, at court services' discretion; Must repay $7,131.44 in restitution jointly and severally, a $500 fine and $193 in court costs; Must repay court-appointed attorney's fees.
