Fatal crash victim identified as Hanson High grad

ALEXANDRIA - A recent Hanson High School graduate was the victim of a fatal car crash Tuesday in rural Hanson County.

Ashley Moe, 20, died Tuesday when her vehicle rolled over north of Alexandria. The crash occurred at 6:50 a.m. Tuesday, 6 miles north of Alexandria at the intersection of 421st Avenue and 251st Street. Moe was the only person involved. A death notice for Moe will be published in Thursday's print edition of The Daily Republic.

Moe, a 2017 Hanson High School graduate, was a prominent athlete for the Beavers while in high school, playing volleyball and basketball and running track. She was the Cornbelt Conference's most valuable player for volleyball in 2016.

Services for Moe are scheduled from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 1 at First United Methodist Church in Mitchell, with a funeral scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church.
