ETHAN - An abandoned house burned to the ground Saturday morning north of Ethan.

No one was inside the house located on Highway 37 north of its intersection with 263rd Street when the fire began, Ethan Fire Chief Dan Schmidt said Sunday.

The fire was called in at 6:11 a.m. and was put out by the Ethan Fire Department by 9:30 a.m. No other structures were affected in the fire.

Schmidt said the Davison County Sheriff's Office has asked him not to comment on additional details about the fire, including its cause. Davison County Sheriff Steve Brink said Sunday that the fire is under investigation.
