BELLE FOURCHE -- Interested in adding a little spice to life?
The organizers of the 9th Annual "Center of the Nation" Chili Cookoff are looking for entries and sponsors for this year's cookoff on June 9.
The event takes place at Belle Fourche's Herrmann Park and serves as the South Dakota State Championship sponsored by the International Chili Society and will be conducted in conjunction with the 20th Annual "Center of the Nation" All Car Rally.
Cash prizes and trophies will be given. Categories include: red chili; chili verde; salsa; people's choice, and showmanship.

The event is sponsored by the Belle Fourche Chamber of Commerce and proceeds go to benefit the Naja Shrine.

l SDHCA Dakota MasterWorks looking for entries
The SDHCA Dakota MasterWorks Art Show is looking for artists 60 years and older for its 11th annual contest.
The contest will be held Oct. 29-30 at the Good Samaritan Society, Sioux Falls, and applications will be accepted Oct. 4-12. The contest was created to showcase the talent and creativity of South Dakotans over the age of 60.
The winning entries will receive cash prizes and be exhibited at various sites throughout the state following the Sioux Falls show.
