Eleanor Marie Carda, 78, Wagner, died Thursday, Jan. 15, 2009, at Community Memorial Hospital, Wagner.
Funeral services will be at a later date.
Arrangements are under the direction of Crosby-Jaeger Funeral Home, Wagner.
She was born on Dec. 4, 1930, at Ravinia to Louis and Georgina (Pobuda) Carda.
She attended grade school at Ravinia through the seventh grade. She finished her education and graduated from Wagner High School in 1948.

She attended Southern State Teachers' College in Springfield, where she received her bachelor's degree.
She taught at Ree 61 Country School south of Wagner and at Rosebud for several years. She began her teaching career as a sixth-grade teacher at Wagner School District in the fall of 1969 and retired in 1988.
She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church of Wagner, Altar Society, SDEA and NEA.
She is survived by two brothers: Lloyd, Denver; and Steven and wife, Shirley, Hobbs, N.M.; a twin sister, Evelyn Carda, Wagner; a sister-in-law, Vivian Jasper Carda; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers: Leonard and Loyson; and a sister-in-law, Viola Thaler Carda.
