SIOUX FALLS (AP) - Egg-laying chickens and eggs are up in South Dakota.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture reports layers during July totaled 2.18 million, up from 1.55 million the previous year.
Egg production last month totaled 49 million eggs, up from 39 million in 2015. Production per 100 layers was 2,247 eggs, compared to 2,516 last year.
