SIOUX FALLS -- A 15-year-old boy who was a passenger in a car that hit a tree just off a main roadway in central Sioux Falls has died.
Sioux Falls police said that at 4 a.m. they responded to a single vehicle car crash near Western Avenue and 22nd Street, where a northbound vehicle had left the roadway and struck a tree. The boy who died was in the vehicle.
During the investigation it was revealed a second vehicle had been involved. That second vehicle was operated by 16-year-old juvenile.
Police said the actions of both drivers contributed to this crash which is still being investigated as interviews were still in progress Wednesday afternoon.
More information and expected charges are expected to be announced Thursday morning.
