DEADWOOD (AP) -- The historic western South Dakota gambling town of Deadwood plans to begin four major capital improvement projects this spring.
Public Works Administrator Jim Raysor says they include drainage improvements, library roof repairs, a new roof on the Deadwood Pavilion, and upgrades to the heating and cooling system at City Hall.
The Black Hills Pioneer reports that the project costs total about $440,000.
Raysor says officials have been planning the projects for a while but other projects took priority. He says it's come to the point where Band-Aids won't work anymore, and the repairs need to be made.
