Damage to a sign at Mitchell's Sandy Beach is one of Mitchell Area Crime Stoppers' Crime of the Week.

Prior to Dec. 2, 2018, the public beach sign was stolen from Sandy Beach at 700 W. Harmon Dr. The brick support columns for the sign were damaged when the sign was stolen. The value of the stolen sign and damage to the support columns is estimated to be $2,500.
