ETHAN -- A Mitchell woman was arrested on June 20 after she allegedly broke into a residence.
Brooke Buck, 22, faces a count of first-degree burglary.
According to court documents, Buck had an altercation with a man at Thirsty’s Bar earlier in the night, and then at 1 a.m. followed him and a woman to his residence. Buck and the man proceeded to argue outside when Buck slapped him twice with an open hand. The man thought he locked his doors and Buck left.
Approximately 20-30 minutes later, Buck allegedly entered the man’s residence. Buck started to punch, claw and slap him when she saw the woman in the man’s bed. The man had redness on his face and scratch marks, which caused bleeding, on his left arm and upper back when the Mitchell police arrived. The man had also received threatening comments via text message.
Buck admitted to entering the man’s home and slapping him, which broke his glasses, according to court documents. She is pregnant with the victim’s child.
First-degree burglary is a Class 2 felony, punishable upon conviction by up to 25 years in prison and a $50,000 fine. Buck also faces a Class 1 misdemeanor.
