The following cases were among those heard Tuesday during a circuit court session at the Davison County Public Safety Center.

  • David Stock, 56, of Mitchell, was sentenced to five years in prison suspended and five years probation for possession of a controlled substance in schedules I or II, a Class 5 felony which carries a maximum penalty of five years in the state penitentiary and a $10,000 fine; Must pay a $1,000 fine, $170 in prosecution costs and $106.50 in court costs; Must repay court-appointed attorney's fees.
  • Michael Farmer, 32, of Fort Thompson, failed to appear for a sentence review for a previous conviction of possession of methamphetamine, a Class 5 felony; Court issued a no-bond bench warrant.
  • John Peterson, 51, of Mitchell, pleaded guilty to possession of methamphetamine; Sentencing scheduled for June 23.
  • Charles Willson, 28, of Whitewood, was sentenced to five years in prison suspended, 96 days in jail with credit for 36 days served and three years probation for possession of methamphetamine; Must pay $159.14 in prosecution costs and $106.50 in court costs; Must repay court-appointed attorney's fees.
  • James Randall, 39, of Buckeye, Arizona, pleaded guilty to possession of more than two ounces and less than one half pound of marijuana, a Class 6 felony which carries a maximum penalty of two years in the state penitentiary and a $4,000 fine; Sentencing scheduled for June 9.
  • Mahlon Bruguier Sr., 41, of Mitchell, failed to appear on charges of possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia, a Class 2 misdemeanor which carries a maximum penalty of 30 days in the county jail and a $500 fine; Court issued a no-bond bench warrant.
  • Ryan Suing, 42, of Mitchell, pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute one to 10 pounds of marijuana, a Class 3 felony which carries a maximum penalty of 15 years in the state penitentiary and a $30,000 fine; Sentencing scheduled for June 23.
  • Dan Jackson Jr., 44, of Goose Creek, South Carolina, pleaded guilty to possession of more than 10 pounds of marijuana, a Class 3 felony; Sentencing scheduled for June 23.
  • Lane Van Erdewyk, 21, of Mitchell, pleaded not guilty to grand theft of more than $1,000 and less than $2,500, a Class 6 felony; Jury trial scheduled for Aug. 10.
  • Alexander Bear Robe Hofwolt, 27, of Mitchell, pleaded guilty to aggravated assault, a Class 3 felony; Sentencing scheduled for June 23.
  • Jesse Knight, 29, of Wessington Springs, pleaded guilty to a first-offense DUI and resisting arrest, both of which are Class 1 misdemeanors which carry a maximum penalty of one year in the county jail and a $2,000 fine; Sentenced to two concurrent sentences of 99 days in jail with 90 days suspended and credit for nine days served; Must pay $1,000 in fines, $173 in court costs and a $50 DUI surcharge; Must repay court-appointed attorney's fees.
  • Christopher Stanga, 42, of Mitchell, pleaded guilty to forgery, a Class 5 felony; Sentenced to five years in prison suspended with credit for 13 days served and three years probation; Must pay a $500 fine, $392.70 in restitution and $106.50 in court costs; Must repay court-appointed attorney's fees.
  • Kaemon Dengler, 20, of Mitchell, pleaded guilty to two counts of aiding and abetting the grand theft of a firearm valued at less than $2,500, a Class 6 felony; Sentenced concurrently to two sentences of two years in prison suspended with credit for eight days served and two years probation; Must pay $1,000 in fines, $213 in court costs and $34 in prosecution costs; Must repay court-appointed attorney's fees.
  • Raymond Hosford, 19, of Mitchell, pleaded guilty to fourth-degree rape, a Class 3 felony; Sentencing scheduled for July 21.
  • Gage Schaub, 20, of Mitchell, pleaded not guilty to failure to accurately provide information to register as a sex offender, a Class 6 felony; Jury trial scheduled for Aug. 10; Denied violating probation for two previous convictions of fourth-degree rape; Status hearing scheduled for July 21.
  • John Bunker, 53, of Mitchell, pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute one ounce of marijuana or less, a Class 6 felony; Sentencing scheduled for July 7.
  • Dakota Cranmer, 26, of Mitchell, pleaded guilty to possession of methamphetamine; Court granted a suspended imposition of sentence with credit for three days served; Sentenced to three months probation; Must pay a $1,000 fine, $106.50 in court costs and $60 in prosecution costs; Must repay court-appointed attorney's fees.
  • Rolland Kills Straight, 44, of Mitchell, admitted to violating probation for a previous conviction of possession of a controlled substance in schedules I or II; Sentenced to five years in prison suspended with credit for 46 days served and four years probation; Must repay all previously ordered amounts; Must repay court-appointed attorney's fees.
  • Jami Lewis, 40, of Mitchell, was sentenced to five years in prison suspended with credit for 26 days served for possession of a controlled substance in schedules I or II; Must pay a $750 fine, $106.50 in court costs and $90 in prosecution costs; Must repay court-appointed attorney's fees.
  • Matthew Sweeney, 35, of Mitchell, was sentenced to five years in prison with credit for 87 days served and three years probation for possession of methamphetamine; Must pay a $500 fine, $154.20 in prosecution costs and $106.50 in court costs; Must repay court-appointed attorney's fees.
  • Mohamed Omar, 23, of Mankato, Minnesota, was granted a suspended imposition of sentence for possession of cathinone, a Class 5 felony; Sentenced to nine days in jail with credit for two days served and three years probation; Must pay a $1,000 fine, $106.50 in court costs and $71.90 in prosecution costs; Must repay court-appointed attorney's fees.
  • William Watkins, 43, of Mitchell, pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, a Class 4 felony which carries a maximum penalty of 10 years in the state penitentiary and a $20,000 fine; Sentencing scheduled for June 23.
  • Randy Talks, 26, of Mitchell, admitted to violating probation for a previous conviction of identity theft, a Class 6 felony; Court granted a suspended imposition of sentence with credit for 27 days served and two years probation; Must repay all previously ordered amounts; Must repay court-appointed attorney's fees.
  • Aaron Cooper, 37, of Mitchell, pleaded guilty to possession of methamphetamine; Sentenced to five years in prison suspended with credit for 10 days served and three years probation; Must pay a $1,000 fine and $106.50 in court costs; Must repay court-appointed attorney's fees.
  • Julian Alonzo, 44, of Mitchell, pleaded guilty to aggravated assault, a Class 3 felony; Sentencing scheduled for June 23.
  • Kyle Neuharth, 33, of Huron, pleaded guilty to a second-offense DUI, a Class 1 misdemeanor; Sentenced to 90 days in jail with 80 days suspended and credit for one day served; Must pay a $750 fine, $145 in prosecution costs, $86.50 in court costs and a $50 DUI surcharge; Must repay court-appointed attorney's fees.
  • Jordan Massie, 18, of Mitchell, pleaded guilty to fourth-degree rape; Sentencing scheduled for July 21.
  • Nicole Hein, 38, of Pierre, pleaded guilty to possession of hydrocodone, a Class 5 felony; Sentencing scheduled for July 7.
  • Brandon Jones, 24, of Volga, pleaded guilty to possession of two ounces or less of marijuana, a Class 1 misdemeanor; Sentenced to 32 days in jail with 30 days suspended and credit for two days served; Must pay a $400 fine, a $100 payment to the Davison County Diversion Program, $86.50 in court costs and $26.60 in restitution; Must repay court-appointed attorney's fees.
