The following cases were among those heard Tuesday during a circuit court session at the Davison County Public Safety Center.

  • John Bunker, 53, of Mitchell, pleaded not guilty to possession with intent to distribute one ounce or less of marijuana, a Class 6 felony which carries a maximum penalty of two years in the state penitentiary and a $4,000 fine; Possession of two ounces of marijuana or less, a Class 1 misdemeanor which carries a maximum penalty of one year in the county jail and a $2,000 fine; And failure to maintain financial responsibility, a Class 2 misdemeanor which carries a maximum penalty of 30 days in the county jail and a $500 fine; Jury trial scheduled for June 29.
  • Mikala Brant, 21, of Mitchell, pleaded guilty to possession of more than two ounces and less than one-half pound of marijuana, a Class 6 felony; Sentencing scheduled for April 14.
  • Mizani Bailey, 22, of Mitchell, pleaded guilty to possession of more than two ounces and less than one-half pound of marijuana; Sentencing scheduled for April 14.
  • Keyanah Kirchmeier, 22, of Mitchell, pleaded not guilty to distribution of methamphetamine, a Class 4 felony which carries a maximum penalty of 10 years in the state penitentiary and a $20,000 fine; And possession of methamphetamine, a Class 5 felony which carries a maximum penalty of five years in the state penitentiary and a $10,000 fine; Jury trial scheduled for June 29.
  • Mohamed Omar, 23, of Mankato, Minnesota, pleaded guilty to possession of cathinone, a Class 5 felony; Sentencing scheduled for April 14.
  • Corban Johnson, 25, of Sioux Falls, pleaded guilty to a fourth-offense DUI, a Class 5 felony; Sentenced to five years in prison suspended with credit for seven days served and four years probation; Must pay a $500 fine, $106.50 in court costs and a $50 DUI surcharge; Admitted to violating probation for a previous conviction of a third-offense DUI, a Class 6 felony; Sentenced consecutively to two years in the state penitentiary suspended with credit for 22 days served and two years probation; Must successfully complete the James Valley DUI Court program; Must repay court-appointed attorney's fees.
  • Alexander Benson, 34, of Mitchell, pleaded guilty to first-degree petty theft, a Class 1 misdemeanor; Sentenced to 180 days in jail suspended; Must pay $1,363.37 in restitution, a $250 fine and $86.50 in court costs; Must repay court-appointed attorney's fees.
  • Andrea Buchholz, 27, of Mitchell, pleaded guilty to possession of two ounces of marijuana or less; Sentenced to 90 days in jail suspended; Must pay a $500 fine and $86.50 in court costs; Must repay court-appointed attorney's fees.
  • James Randall, 38, of Buckeye, Arizona, pleaded not guilty to possession of hash oil, a Class 5 felony; Possession of more than two ounces and less than one-half pound of marijuana; And possession of drug paraphernalia, a Class 2 misdemeanor; Jury trial scheduled for June 29.
  • Jarvis Skunk, 44, of Lower Brule, admitted to violating probation for previous convictions of possession of stolen property, a Class 6 felony; Sentenced to two years in prison suspended with credit for 140 days served; Must complete Team Challenge program; Must repay all previously ordered amounts; Must repay court-appointed attorney's fees.
  • Lee Reed, 31, of Mitchell, pleaded guilty to intentional property damage of between $5,000 and $100,000, a Class 4 felony; And aggravated criminal entry of a motor vehicle, a Class 6 felony; Sentencing scheduled for April 28.
  • Justin Bublitz, 32, of Mitchell, pleaded guilty to unauthorized ingestion of methamphetamine, a Class 5 felony; Sentencing scheduled for April 28.
  • Tuval Odelsman, 26, of Mazkeret Batya, Israel, pleaded guilty to possession of two ounces of marijuana or less; Court granted a suspended imposition of sentence with credit for one day served; Must pay a $500 fine, $86.50 in court costs and $61.30 in prosecution costs.
  • Noy Hanukayev, 27, of Sderot, Israel, pleaded guilty to possession of two ounces of marijuana or less; Court granted a suspended imposition of sentence; Must pay a $500 fine, $86.50 in court costs and $61.30 in prosecution costs.
  • Tate Arbach, 19, of Mitchell, pleaded guilty to a first-offense DUI, a Class 1 misdemeanor; Court granted a suspended imposition; Must pay a $500 fine, $151 in prosecution costs and $86.50 in court costs.
  • Theunis Pretorius, 24, of Wessington Springs, pleaded guilty to a first-offense DUI; Court granted a suspended imposition of sentence; Must pay a $500 fine, $151 in prosecution costs, $86.50 in court costs and a $50 DUI surcharge.
  • Kevin Dibono, 51, of Mitchell, pleaded guilty to a first-offense DUI; Court granted a suspended imposition of sentence; Must pay a $500 fine, $151 in prosecution costs, $86.50 in court costs and a $50 DUI surcharge.
  • Mark Leach Jr., 38, of Ethan, pleaded not guilty to failing to update sex offender registration, a Class 6 felony which carries a maximum penalty of two years in the state penitentiary and a $4,000 fine; Jury trial scheduled for June 29.
  • Larry Abdo Jr., 41, of Lake Andes, admitted to violating probation for a previous conviction of possession of a controlled substance in schedules I or II, a Class 5 felony which carries a maximum penalty of five years in the state penitentiary; Sentenced to five years in prison suspended with credit for 47 days served; Admitted to violating probation for a previous conviction of criminal entry of a motor vehicle, a Class 1 misdemeanor; Sentenced consecutively to one year in jail suspended with credit for 53 days served; Must repay all previously ordered amounts; Must repay court-appointed attorney's fees.
  • Robert Shields, 25, of Mitchell, admitted to violating probation for a previous conviction of possession of a controlled substance in schedules I or II; Sentenced to five years in prison suspended with credit for 42 days served and two years probation; Must repay all previously ordered amounts; Must repay court-appointed attorney's fees.
  • Zachary Cwach, 32, of Yankton, pleaded guilty to identity theft, a Class 6 felony; Sentenced to two years in prison suspended with credit for 53 days served; Must pay $1,055.05 in restitution and $106.50 in court costs; Must repay court-appointed attorney's fees.
