The Mitchell Police Division is looking for a dog and its owner after an attack last week.

Officials say a man was walking his dog at about 6:45 p.m. Friday in the 500 block of West Sixth Avenue when a golden-brown boxer came out and bit the smaller dog. While breaking up the fighting between the dogs, the man also got bit. The boxer ran off, and officers were unable to locate it or the owner after the incident.

Officials say the man now needs to get rabies shots because no one has verified the boxer is up to date on its shots.

Police say the the dog has a small patch of white on its neck. Any information on the incident, the dog or who its owner is is encouraged to call the Mitchell Police Department at 995-8400.
