WINNER — A Tripp County court has dismissed burglary and assault charges brought against a Winner man in April.

Ramiro Ocampo, 44, was charged with two counts of first-degree burglary and one count of simple assault on April 8, and all charges were dropped on Dec. 26.

According to court documents, police were told early the morning of April 8 that Ocampo had gone into a Winner house, knocked over items with a chair and hit a woman before leaving the scene.

Ocampo was alleged to have been found at his residence with swelling around his knuckles, and he reportedly gave police a story with inconsistencies in it and denied assaulting the woman and going into the house.
