PIERRE -- A man arrested in Fort Thompson last week for a federal sex offense involving a child was released on bond Friday.
Michael Johnson, 27, faces one count of abusive sexual contact of a child under the age of 12 for incidents that allegedly occurred between Jan. 19, 2015, and Jan. 18, 2017, on tribal land in Buffalo County.
An indictment was filed against Johnson on Nov. 13, and he was arrested on a warrant the following day.
Johnson pleaded not guilty to the charge Friday. Following a detention hearing, he was released on a third-party custodial bond to a Pukwana woman.
A trial date has not been set.
