WOONSOCKET -- A Woonsocket man was arrested Wednesday after allegedly soliciting explicit photos from two teenage girls and threatening to publicize them.

Wayne Halvorsen, 32, reportedly told law enforcement following his arrest that he knew the girls were between the ages of 12 and 14 when he communicated with them via Snapchat between this summer and Oct. 3, when one of the girls reported the communication.

According to an affidavit filed by Special Agent Toby Russell of the state Division of Criminal Investigation, interviews with the two girls indicated that Halvorsen had communicated with both girls on an account with the username "Danger Boy" and had sent messages to one of the girls with his personal account previously.

Halvorsen allegedly solicited nude photos from both girls, saved them and threatened to post them publicly on Facebook unless they sent him more photos. He also reportedly sent a video of himself to one of the girls.

Halvorsen faces two counts of solicitation of a minor, a Class 4 felony punishable upon conviction by up to 10 years in prison and a $20,000 fine for each count. As of Friday morning, Halvorsen was in custody on a $10,000 cash bond.
