SIOUX FALLS -- A federal court sentenced a man to 20 years in prison Wednesday morning for having forcible sexual contact with a girl under the age of 12 in Lake Andes.

In addition to 240 months in prison, Terry Blaine, a member of the Yankton Sioux Tribe, was sentenced by Judge Karen E. Schreier to 10 years on supervised released and ordered to pay a $100 special assessment.

Blaine was indicted in November on charges of aggravated sexual abuse of a child under 12 in connection with incidents that took place between Jan. 22, 2010, and Jan. 21, 2013, at his relative's home in Lake Andes.

On June 26, Blaine pleaded guilty to abusive sexual contact by force. His prison sentence is the longest allowable sentence for the crime.
