GREGORY -- A Gregory man has been charged with sexually assaulting a family member with a disability on Aug. 27.

Clarence Klein Jr., 56, is charged with sexual contact with a person incapable of consenting, a Class 4 felony; abuse of an adult with a disability, a Class 6 felony; and simple assault, a Class 1 misdemeanor.

According to an affidavit filed on Aug. 28, the family member told law enforcement he had woken up to find Klein sexually assaulting him. After the alleged assault, the family member was hospitalized for self-inflicted injuries.

That evening, Klein reportedly agreed to make a statement at the Gregory Police Department and admitted to the assault.

If convicted of all three charges brought against him, Klein could be imprisoned for up to 13 years.
