SIOUX FALLS-One man was injured in an officer-involved shooting incident Tuesday afternoon at the Minnehaha County Jail in Sioux Falls.

At about 3:05 p.m., the Minnehaha County Sheriff's Office responded to a disturbance at the jail, during which a man broke a window in a jail door and charged at law enforcement with a knife, according to Attorney General Jason Ravnsborg.

A sheriff's deputy reportedly fired a duty weapon at the man, who was transported to a hospital for his injuries.

The South Dakota Division of Criminal Investigation is looking into the shooting and is expected to release a case report and shooting summary within 30 days.
