Ohio man arrested with drugs in Charles Mix County
PICKSTOWN—An Ohio man was arrested in Charles Mix County on May 10 for allegedly carrying about a pound of marijuana and 20 THC vape cartridges in his car.
Kishawn Syph, 22, of Toledo, Ohio, was charged with four felonies and a misdemeanor.
According to court documents, at 1:32 a.m., a South Dakota Highway Patrol officer stopped a Ford Expedition with Missouri plates, driven by Syph, traveling east at 48 mph on State Highway 46, where the posted speed limit is 30 mph.
The officer reportedly smelled marijuana in the vehicle, and Syph admitted to having a small amount with him.
A search of the vehicle allegedly yielded 16.022 ounces of marijuana in the back seat and 20 one-gram THC vape cartridges in the glove compartment.
Syph was arrested and charged with possession with intent to distribute one pound or more of marijuana; possession of one to 10 pounds of marijuana; manufacturing, distribution or possession of drugs in schedules I or II; possession of a controlled substance in schedules I or II; and possession of drug paraphernalia. If convicted on all counts, he could face more than 40 years in prison.
