CHAMBERLAIN-A Pukwana man accused of involvement in a February bar fight will serve no jail time, a Brule County court ruled on May 1.

Garrett Pickner, 30, was sentenced to a 30-day suspended jail sentence after pleading guilty to disorderly conduct, a Class 2 misdemeanor. He was also ordered to pay $168 in fines and court costs.

On the night of Feb. 16, a Brule County deputy responded to a report of a disturbance at a Pukwana bar. There, a bartender and witness said Pickner had tried to hit the witness and that the witness had taken the man to the ground, according to court documents. Pickner then allegedly made threats to people in the bar and left. He was later found at a Pukwana residence and arrested.

Pickner was originally charged with aggravated assault, simple assault and disorderly conduct. The state dismissed both assault charges.
