A Mitchell man was arrested Tuesday after police responded to a clinic where a 7-month-old boy reportedly was found to have bruises and bite marks on his face and body.

Tyler Freeman, 21, is charged with one count of abuse or cruelty to a child less than seven years of age, a Class 3 felony.

Police were called to the clinic, located at 2100 Highland Way, at about 3:30 p.m. Tuesday and were informed by medical staff that the child had arrived at the clinic with bruises on his face and genitals and bite marks on his face, arm and side.

Freeman reportedly denied responsibility for the bite marks but told police he had caused some of the bruising the night before.
