LOWER BRULE-A woman has been indicted by a federal grand jury for allegedly obstructing law enforcement in December in Lower Brule.

Gloria Peltier, also known as Gloria Morning Star, was indicted on Jan. 23 on one count of assaulting, resisting or impeding a federal officer.

Peltier allegedly obstructed a Bureau of Indian Affairs correctional officer on Dec. 18 in an incident that caused injury to the officer. If convicted, Peltier could face up to 20 years in federal prison.
