Two accused of grand theft in Buffalo County

GANN VALLEY — Arrest warrants were filed on Tuesday in Buffalo County for two men who allegedly stole thousands of dollars in equipment.

Complaints were filed Friday against William Langstraat, 22, of Stickney, and Tyler Naser, 44, of Gann Valley.

According to court documents, the complaint is based on information from an investigation by the Department of Criminal Investigation. It asserts that Langstraat and Naser stole property from a fencing company and that they stole items including an electric generator, log chains, a deep cycle marine battery and chain binders.

Arrest warrants were filed for both men on charges of aiding and abetting grand theft of more than $5,000 and less than $100,000.01, a Class 4 felony, and grand theft of more than $1,000 and less than or equal to $2,500, a Class 6 felony.

If convicted on both charges, Langstraat and Naser could each face up to 12 years in prison and $24,000 in fines.

Buffalo County State's Attorney David Natvig declined to comment on the cases.
