The Mitchell City Council’s regularly scheduled meeting at 6 p.m. Monday has been cancelled due to a lack of quorum for the Board of Adjustment.

According to Mitchell Mayor Bob Everson, there were enough council members to meet the quorum -- which is the minimum number of members to legally vote on agenda items. However, the council was scheduled to entertain a motion to meet as the Board of Adjustment, which requires a total of six members.

Everson said there are not enough members attending to meet the Board of Adjustment quorum.

“The items we have on the agenda do not require urgent action, so it will work out to take action on them two weeks from now at our next meeting,” Everson said.

The council will meet as planned at 6 p.m. on Oct. 19.
