SUMMIT, S.D. — Ambulances transported 10 people to South Dakota hospitals after rafters on a building under construction at a dairy collapsed on Monday, Sept. 12.
According to Grant County (South Dakota) Emergency Management, Summit Fire and Grant-Roberts Ambulance were called to a new building construction at Blooming Valley Dairy at 5:25 p.m. Monday. While 10 people were transported by ambulance to Watertown, Milbank, Webster and Ortonville, the incident involved 21 workers, Grant County Emergency Management said.
The Grant County Sheriff's Department, Summit Fire, Milbank Fire, South Shore Fire, Wilmot Fire, Watertown Fire, Grant-Roberts Ambulance, Ortonville Ambulance, Christianson Ambulance, South Dakota Highway Patrol and Grant County Emergency Management responded to the scene.
