The following businesses and offices will be closed on Monday, Oct. 9, in honor of Native Americans' Day:
• James Valley Community Center. There will also be no Senior Meals.
• The Mitchell Public Library will be closed on Monday, Oct. 9, to observe the Native Americans' Day holiday. Regular hours will resume on Tuesday, Oct. 10, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
• City of Mitchell garbage collection will begin at 7 a.m. and be completed by noon on Monday, Oct. 9. The city of Mitchell Landfill will close at noon; Dependable Recycling will follow the city of Mitchell schedule. The compost drop off site will be open from 4 p.m. to sunset.
