During the week of April 20-24, the city of Mitchell will be collecting oversized items set out on the curb. To have these items collected, set the item or items on the curbside on the day your garbage is normally collected. City crews will be around on that day to collect the items. There is a $10 fee for this collection, which is restricted to only current city garbage customers.
(Residents with private garbage collection services will have to make their own arrangements for large-item cleanup.)
Items that will not be collected on the city oversize item collection are as followed: absolutely no trees, tree branches, tires, batteries, yard waste and large quantities of construction or demolition materials.
For city services, if your normal day for garbage collection is Wednesday, you would place your oversized items curbside that day. A separate city crew will collect those items on that day.
