Citations are pending against a White Lake man whose vehicle collided with a motorcycle Monday in Mitchell, according to authorities.
Justin Cherry, 29, was driving his 2006 Pontiac G6 north at 6:09 p.m. on Highway 37, just north of the Interstate 90 exit when his vehicle hit a motorcycle carrying two passengers from Parkston, William and Lorie Moeller.
William, 51, and Lorie, 50, were transported to Avera Queen of Peace Hospital in Mitchell with minor injuries. Sgt. Terry Reyelts of the Mitchell Police Division said the Moellers were taken to the hospital as a precautionary to make sure they were OK. Both appeared to be wearing helmets and eye protection, Reyelts said.
Reyelts said the motorcycle was traveling at about 10 to 15 mph and the Pontiac was moving at about 30 to 35 mph at the time of the crash.
The crash’s investigation was made by officer Nick Jongeling of the Mitchell Police Division.
