CenturyLink, Inc., in partnership with the South Dakota Department of Education, is connecting teachers with technology for the classroom. Teachers in CenturyLink's local service areas who want to innovatively implement technology in their classrooms to increase student achievement can still apply for a CenturyLink Clarke M. Williams Foundation's Teachers and Technology grant through Jan. 2.
Full-time pre-K through 12th-grade classroom teachers in public or private schools in CenturyLink residential service areas are eligible to apply. Visit http://fsrequests.com/CenturyLinkGrant to apply for a grant.
Marica Shannon, a teacher for Mitchell Senior High in Mitchell, applied and won a grant last year to purchase Canon camera equipment for a graphic design project.
The Foundation will award more than $1.4 million in grants to support technology in the classroom through its 2014-2015 Teachers and Technology program, offered throughout the company's service areas in the U.S.
Grant winners will be announced between April 1-May 15.
