Casino murder defendant accused of making liquor in jail

SIOUX FALLS (AP) -- A man accused of killing another man outside a Sioux Falls casino is facing an additional charge after being accused of making liquor in jail.

SIOUX FALLS (AP) - A man accused of killing another man outside a Sioux Falls casino is facing an additional charge after being accused of making liquor in jail.

The Argus Leader reports 21-year-old Jared Stone was charged earlier this month with possession of unauthorized articles in jail.

Court records show the contents of a soda bottle that a corrections officer found in June wrapped in a towel in Stone's cell tested positive for ethyl alcohol. Authorities suspected the bottle contained alcohol that inmates produce from whatever they can find.

Court records show Stone denied the bottle was his but admitted it was in his cell.

Stone has been in jail since April 27, when he was arrested after a five-day multistate manhunt. He is accused of killing 28-year-old Baptiste White Eyes.
