BROOKINGS (AP) -- A Brookings bar damaged by fire five weeks ago is back in business.

The Brookings Register reports that Ray's Corner reopened this week.

The bar was damaged in a March 26 fire that started in a malfunctioning restroom exhaust fan. The bathrooms and cooler in the back of the bar and three apartments above the business were damaged. A firefighter was treated for a minor burn but otherwise no one was hurt.
