ABERDEEN (AP) - Bids for Aberdeen's new public library have come in at about $6 million.

City Manager Lynn Lander tells the American News that's about half a million dollars less than the maximum bid officials would consider accepting.

The City Council will decide later who will get the bid to build the facility approved by voters in December.

Officials hope to begin construction in April and complete the library by summer 2017.
