A fire destroys Woelfel Jewelry Store and Wilkens Ready to Wear on Jan. 17, 1921. The fire started in the basement of Woelfels about 9:30 a.m. and quickly spread through the floor. By noon, Woelfel Jewelry, located at 202 N. Main St., owned by Gustav Woelfel, and Wilkins Ready to Wear, 204 N. Main St., owned by Abraham Wilkins, were total losses.
