GROTON (AP) - Authorities say they have found 7 pounds of marijuana worth roughly $50,000 during a search of a Groton man's farm and business.
The Aberdeen American News reports 44-year-old Timothy Thurston is charged with possession with intent to distribute 1 to 10 pounds of marijuana. He was ordered held on $20,000 bond Wednesday.
Brown County Sheriff's Office investigator Ross Erickson says authorities found most of the marijuana in vacuum seal bags Tuesday and some was in smaller bags for distribution. He says authorities found roughly $12,000 cash on the farm near Groton.
Erickson says Thurston likely brought the marijuana in from out of state. He says authorities found a small amount of marijuana and a scale at Thurston's business, Thirsty's Lodge and Suites.
It wasn't immediately clear if Thurston has an attorney.
