Mitchell police have arrested two juveniles and one adult in connection with a case of church vandalism.

Detective Lt. Don Everson said Friday that two 16-year-olds are accused of using a stolen BB gun to shoot windows at the Mitchell Wesleyan Church earlier this month. Their names are being withheld because of their age.

An adult, Jonathan Patrick Harder, 20, is charged with misprision of a felony for allegedly having knowledge about the crime but failing to report it. Everson said more than $1,000 in damage was caused, and there appeared to be a motive.

“They were targeting that church specifically because somebody they did not like was attending that church,” Everson said.
